Technician and Classroom Support (Technology Faculty)
The successful applicant for this role will become part of a team of nine in a vibrant, passionate department. The Technology department prides itself on working with learners to meet their goals and develop a wide range of skills and interests whilst progressing towards the achievement of qualifications.
Our Technician and Classroom Support will be required to prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons, to maintain machinery and equipment in accordance with Health & Safety requirements and to maintain and monitor consumables (materials) and equipment within the department.
We are looking for someone diligent, hardworking, who enjoys working in a team, someone who is organised, adaptable and willing to learn. We would also require the candidate to support the curriculum and department, assisting and working with students across the department either within the classroom, in small groups or one-to-one.
Experience in the following is preferred, but training is available for the candidate with the right personal skills:

Relevant practical experience of working within a workshop or similar environment

Confidence in using a range of machinery for both metal and woodworking.

Knowledge of Health & Safety within a workshop environment and completing risk assessments.

The skills to maintain and repair workshop tools and equipment.

Purpose
Under the supervision and control of the Heads of Department, to provide assistance as required in the preparation of resources for practical lessons that meet both the health and safety standards and requirements of the classes involved
To support the curriculum and department, assisting and working with students across the department either within the classroom, in small groups or one-to-one.

£11,541 pro-rata per annum (reduced for term time working)
