Several of our current staff started with us as LSAs, and are now studying to become Teachers or Vocational Instructors.

Our classes are very small which will enable you to make good relationships with the children and to get to know their individual needs, learning styles and preferences well so that you can contribute to the development of individual education plans and learning journeys.

We are dedicated to developing a diverse, rich, relevant and engaging curriculum, delivered through a range of learning experiences built around the individual needs and interests of our children and young people. If you are interested in transforming the lives and opportunities of young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), we will be very interested to hear from you.

You will be:

• An exceptional, creative dynamic individual who really wants to make a difference every day to the lives of the most vulnerable children

• Solution focussed and put the needs of the child at the heart of everything they do.

• Able to work with others and support colleagues throughout the school to promote the safety, learning and wellbeing of children and young people. Someone who enjoys working with pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties including those with challenging behaviour.

• Someone who understands that behaviour is a form of communication and use this to anticipate, de-escalate and avoid de-regulations.

• Able to reflect on experiences and give and receive feedback to improve.

• Able to work on their own initiative prioritising the safety and wellbeing of all.

• Interested in developing and delivering bespoke, high quality educational provision for young people.

• A lifelong learner who can lead by example.

• Committed to eliminating discrimination, harassment and bullying and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.

You will receive:

• High quality professional training and support.

• Opportunities for career progression including routes into teaching.

• Support from colleagues who share your values and ethos.

• Mentoring and coaching to support you within your role.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of a Teacher and a Senior Learning Support Assistant to undertake learning and therapeutic programmes. You will facilitate learners to access learning and assist the teacher in the teaching of pupils and the management of the classroom environment. Teaching and learning may be carried out in the classroom or as part of other alternative provision beyond the classroom.

The position:

Days: Monday – Friday

Hours: 35

Salary: Negotiable Depending on Experience

This role will be paid 12 months of the year.

The role will include attending to the safety and wellbeing of pupils including those with special educational needs, delivering bespoke learning/care/support programmes and implementing literacy/numeracy programmes, and undertaking general administrative and teaching support for the teacher.
