SEMH Teaching assistant 1:1

Location: Newton Abbott

Salary: 65GBP-75GBP

Contract: Temporary to permanent –start ASAP

Opus Education are working closely with a SEN school based in Newton Abbott. They are currently looking for a number of teaching assistants to join their team.

The school

The school caters for children with a range of special educational needs; autistic spectrum condition, severe learning difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, speech, language and communication needs and SEMH needs. There are a total of 50 pupils in the school ranging from 2-11 years old and all students have a My Aspirational Plan (MAP). The school itself utilises the full national curriculum with the support from speech and language therapists to advise teachers on individual programmes. Some of the facilities at the school include a multisensory room, nurture room, soft play and forest school area

The Role

Working 1:1 student on a part time basis

The Working days are Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

The Hours are 08:30-14:30

In order to be considered:

Must have experience working with SEMH / autism.

Have a passion for education and working with young people.

Available to work full time Monday – Friday

Be able to work as part of a team

Provide 2 references.

Proof of right to work in the UK

Hold a current and clear DBS or willing to do a new one.

Experience working in school settings.

Opus Education can offer you:

£65-£70 per day, depending on experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
