We are working closely with a school in the Newton Abbott area. The school delivers outstanding education and care to children with a wide range of physical, medical and neurological conditions and associated learning difficulties aged between 2 and 19 years. These include physical disabilities; profound and multiple learning difficulties (including multi-sensory impairment and visual/hearing impairment); speech, language and communication difficulties; moderate learning difficulties and autistic spectrum disorders.

General and 1:1 support roles available within the setting
Experience within a similar setting is not essential however prior experience supporting children and/ young adults with additional needs is desirable. The experience doesn't necessarily have to be in a school setting and can be from care, residential, youth work, prisons, sports coaching etc!
There are multiple roles available within this school, both full-time and part-time. These positions can work around your availability, for example your university timetable/ existing job and are available on a short-term and long-term basis. Within these roles, you will support pupils in the classroom and during break/lunch times, ensuring high levels of care at all times. It is important, that you are child focused, motivated, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
The working hours will vary in terms of the full-time and part-time positions available. Generally, a full-time role would be 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday-Friday.
